The D1 category license can be obtained from the age of 16 and allows navigation exclusively during the day within six miles of the coast with "vessels" (1 mile for jet skis).
The new D1 category license is obtained following attendance of a training course, integrated with practical navigation exercises and motor maneuvers, as well as passing a final suitability quiz.
